Provigo is a supermarket retailer based in Quebec, Canada, consisting of more than 300 stores and franchises throughout the province. Works in a retail chain in stores and distribution warehouses. It is owned by Loblaw Companies Limited.

In 1969, in response to competition in Canada and the United States, maxi flyer verdun a consortium of four wholesalers in Quebec joined their activities with the desire to maintain construction costs and services as a great company. One of these people is Antoine Turmel who will be the first CEO of Provigo. Provigo was created in 1969 under the name of Couvrette & Provost, transformed into Provigo in 1970.
In the beginning, Provigo was the only name of the company that used three banners for its supermarket operations: "Provigain", "Provibec" and "Provipop". Until 1979 the name of the supplier itself can be a real banner in the store replacing the Provigain chain. His brother Provibec named AXEP in 1983. As Provipop, this was changed Jovi in 1970. A Provigo chain in the neighborhood store, "prueba-Soir" (est.1974) is not affected by these participating and his name remains until its inclusion in Couche-Late in the late 1990's.
The acquisition of Provigo in the year includes Les Aubaines alimentaires in 1972, Jato in 1975, Dionne in 1977, Maxi and Raymond Dominio in 1981, A & P Montreal in 1984 and 1992 in Steinberg.
